Aloe brevifolia, or Short Leaf Aloe is a stemless perennial succulent that is native to South Africa. Pale green-grey triangular-lanceolate leaves form tight rosettes to 6 inches tall. Individual leaves are 3 inches long by 1 inch wide. The leaves are flat on top and concave on the underside; armed with white teeth along the margins and keel. Full sun conditions will bring out rich color combinations of pale red, orange as well as hues of purple and pink. In the late spring, spikes of orange-scarlet flowers appear. The plant freely produces offsets and can form large clumps.
